Tips for a SEO strategy
Would you like to get a better position on your website? With these tips below, you can improve your SEO or organic positioning so that when someone enters your keywords and theme in Google, your site will be the first place where the user clicks.
What is SEO positioning?
The meaning of the acronym SEO is Search Engine Optimizers; it is about optimizing the position in which search engines present our website when a user makes a query. Therefore, to optimize the web so that it appears among the first in the rankings, we must consider numerous aspects, which carried out correctly will guarantee a good position for our web.
In short, Google will place the best web pages in the first position. But how could Google know what is the best web? We will show you some tips you can consider to improve your organic positioning.
1. Choose your keywords wisely
Undoubtedly, the biggest mistake you can make in an SEO strategy is to choose the wrong keywords for your website.
All SEO optimization actions we do should be focused on promoting keywords that interest us, so if we work hard to optimize the SEO of our website for the wrong words, we will have wasted valuable time and will not have served anything.
You must remember that people search how they want, not how they think. That is why you must use tools to know what terms people use to find web pages like yours.
You can get a better positioning of the articles with complete keyword research. Fortunately, there is no shortage of keyword research tools to help us.
In this section, you have to remember that, unless your website already has a good SEO positioning, you will not be able to compete with pages with a lot of authority.
That's why you mustn't choose the keywords with the most searches but those with a decent volume and competition you can handle.
2. Distribute your keywords throughout your website
When you have the right keywords, the next step is to distribute these words along with your website.
The best way to do this is to have each page point to a single primary keyword. This way, you can put the keyword in the most important places of your sections, such as in the title, in the slug, and the H1. This way, Google will not get confused and position you for the keyword you are targeting.
This does not mean that you should not include related secondary keywords: it is also essential to have synonymous words in the contents to give more sense and semantic contextuality to the texts.
Remember that keywords should be placed in strategic places. Worth mentioning:
- Title
It is advisable to put the target keyword in the title of your article. Search engines give more importance to the first words, which are more to the left.
- H1 tag: The H1 tag must contain the same or very similar to the title.
- H2 headings
Add them so that the article follows the correct structure. They are ideal for separating sections and giving air to the writing. You can put more than 1, and I also recommend adding h3, h4, etc.
- First paragraph and keywords
Add your main keywords in the first paragraph. Ideally, they should appear in the first 100 words. But do not repeat, be semantically correct. You can use LSI Keywords (below, I explain what it is).
LSI Keywords
LSI keywords are synonyms that Google uses to determine the relevance of a page (and possibly the quality). Try to make them appear in every article.
One way to find them is in a Google search, looking for related words.
3. Image optimization
Ensure that your images' file names include the target keyword (e.g., tips_optimization_seo.jpg) and that your target keyword is part of the image alt=" text.
Don't leave even one out. The more you optimize, the more they will show up in Google image search, another good way to bring visitors to the site.
4. Content length
The articles with more words are the ones that rank better, according to Google, because they are the ones that contribute more, I do not deny it, but it is hard to write articles with more than 1950 words.
I also tell you that a 1000 words article with helpful and valuable content is better than a post full of "straw" and irrelevant texts that only increase the bounce rate.
5. Outbound links
One of the minor standard practices. Outbound links to related pages help Google determine the topic of your page.
This shows Google how relevant your website's content is and the quality of information it has. We recommend about 2 to 4 outbound links per 1000 words.
Plus, if you link to a major media outlet that says you don't link back or mention your site.
6. Internal links
Use internal links so that users visit other sections of your website, stay longer, and Google will value your content more. A good example is the Wikipedia page. Add 2 or 3 links to each article.
7. Local optimization
This is no longer a trend. It's a must: Since Google introduced its local SEO algorithm, businesses have to optimize their company listing locally to appear in the top positions.
So, if your focus is on local words, you will ensure that your website gets more relevance for the searchers of a specific region.
It is also recommendable to register your website in many local directories and also on Google MyBusiness.
